Philip’s Birthday Cake:
My brother just had a birthday and I wanted to surprise him with a cake he would love! I came across this Extreme Cookies ‘N Cream Oreo Cake made by Dorothy, owner of Crazy For Crust, baking… with a slice of life and I had to make it! This cake is so delicious.
We went to dinner at Stacks Bar & Grill and sat outside on the patio. The weather was just perfect and the food was even better. We started with the sweet potato tots that were so good we ended up with two orders. For all the wonderful mothers out there, they were approved by 13 month old niece, Nora. It was so cute watching her face light up with each bite that I am inspired to create my own recipe just for her, and lets be honest for all of us too!
We also ordered a featured appetizer of Tuna Poke Lettuce Wraps with Watermelon Pico, Avocado, Soy Ginger Glaze, Wasabi Aioli, & Crispy Wonton. The combination of tuna with watermelon was delightful and refreshing. For my main entree I had Salmon because I can’t pass up this nutrient dense fish when it’s on the menu.
Here is a picture of us at dinner. From left to right is my mom (Laura), middle sister (Megan) holding her sweet baby girl (Nora), the birthday boy, my older brother (Philip), and myself (Becca at The Well Dressed Kitchen).
Even though we were completely stuffed, there is always room for cake, especially a double layered chocolate oreo cake. Once again, Nora approved 🙂
